Rad Reading – September

This month I read the book Restart by Gordon Korman. The plot starts off in the hospital, when Chase wakes up after a coma. He days amnesia after he fell of the roof of his house. He used to be a “Jock” on the football team. He has to recover from his injury, meet his old friends, and find memories. However, he’s changed as a person from the coma and now. He also has to deal with his own self did in the past.
I loved how the book goes from different perspectives of characters, whether his old friends, kid’s he’s hurt, and many more. The author created deep characters, with plenty of personality. The challenges that Chase has to deal with is the same that most people would have to deal with if they got amnesia.
My favorite character is Brendan. He seems very realistic and in depth. He has to face challenges whether to trust Chase, and his drama with Kimmy is fun. One of his character traits is Loyal. The reason I believe this is because the book stats, “The whole thing depresses me to the point where I almost want to quit video club. But if I’m the president; if I leave it’ll fall apart for sure (Page 193).”He’s loyal to his friends and the video club. Even though he wants to quit, he knows the club and his friends will fail if he leaves, so he stays in the club and tries to get the club to be great again.
My favorite quote is, “There’s only one me,” (223). The reason why it’s my favorite quote is that he thinks he hasn’t changed, but he really has. It also summarizes the book, of him getting caught up with his past troubles.

A Mouthful of a Meal

I have a favorite meal. For the main course, it would be a medium rare steak. Any kind of steak would do. As a side, I’d have potato skins, with bacon, the melty cheese and the potato makes perfection. As another side, I’d have rice. Rice and steak taste amazing together, the steak juice makes another bite of rice delicious. I’d have a Barq’s root beer float as a drink, combined the bubbly root beer, and vanilla taste delectable. For dessert, I’d have a chocolate cake and ice cream. The chocolate cake would have chocolate frosting. The ice cream would be vanilla, and have whipped cream. The vanilla five cream and chocolate cake would go well with each other.

A Home Alone

My dream home would be a modern home on the west coast. It would have plenty of sunlight, a beautiful master bedroom/bathroom, an office, garage, kitchen, and a family room/living room. The master bathroom would be marble, with a shower and bathtub. The bedroom would have a bed, lamps, a TV, and a bookshelf. It would have a closet next to it. The office would have computers, board games, movies, a couch, and be attached to a bathroom. The garage will basically be mostly storage, so it would be big. The family room will have a TV, video games, a couch, ottoman, and board games. The kitchen would be a standard kitchen, pretty modern though. The backyard would have a pool, hot tub, and a large grass area. It would have an outside kitchen, with a grill and a seating area.

The Places I’ll Go

I would love to travel to Europe. I’d basically have a chocolate tour. Belgium, France, and Switzerland. I’d go to Brussels, Ghent, Paris, Nice, and Berne, and Klichberg. I’d start off in Brussels and have all the great foods such as waffles, French fries, and Chocolate. I’d see the beautiful medieval architecture in Ghent. I’d then go to Paris, and visit the Eiffel Tower. Than I’ll head to Nice, which I’ve heard has great beaches. I’d head to Switzerland and head to Berne. The beautiful Swiss capital has a nice city and mountains. Klichberg has chocolate factory’s, what else is to be said?
